It seems that nowhere is immune from Russell Crowe's hell-raising antics - not even a quiet country pub in the home counties.The Oscar winning star has been banned from The Brickmakers in the sleepy Surrey town of Windlesham after arguing the pub should stay open later than planned.
The Hollywood star was taking a break from filming his latest epic, Robin Hood, when an argument broke out late into the evening.
A duty manager at The Brickmakers confirmed that the New Zealand-born actor had been barred.
He said: 'I’m not exactly sure what he’s supposed to have done but there was apparently trouble and he’s been asked not to return.
It’s not the only place he’s been barred from.
There are at least two others I know of, one here in Windlesham and another in Sunningdale.'
One local drinker said: 'We understand that he offered money to be allowed to keep drinking after closing time.
Eventually he left, but not before smashing a plate.'
