Actress jessica Biel makes Singing Debut


Jessica Biel has proved she can sing by making her musical stage debut in Guys and Dolls in Los Angeles.
The 27-year-old actress performed in a three night run of the show held at the Hollywood Bowl.
Biel plays a missionary, called Sarah Brown, who disapproves of a gang of gamblers.
She admitted performing in a musical was a new experience for her - certainly as an adult.
I did a concert version of Tommy when I was in college. But, other than that, it was 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 when my big musical-theatre world was happening.
So it's been 10-plus years since I've done anything like this."
Biel usually leaves the singing to her other half, Justin Timberlake, but it seems she can hold a note too.
I was in and out of voice lessons for all those years, when I was not busy working on a film or something," she explained.
But I haven't done anything like this in a very long time. And I'm just grateful that the voice miraculously came back," she laughed.

Biel's latest role as a religious puritan is a far cry from her recent film Powder Blue in which she plays a stripper.
That though is "the fun of this world," she explained. "That's what I love about this job.
You get to do something like that and then you go completely extreme to the other side of it."
Biel was joined by a cast of Broadway heavyweights for Guys and Dolls, including Tony-winning Brian Stokes Mitchell and Tony-nominated Ellen Greene.
She admitted it was "very nerve wracking" but it was "wonderful."
They've been so helpful -- making me feel comfortable. You know, just giving me tips, giving me pointers."
