Rakhi Sawant in legal soup!

It’s a rage on the small screen; the show ‘Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’ has clicked instantly with the Indian audience. But the show has got into legal soup, with a writer accusing the channel people of stealing the show’s concept from him.

Now, the Judicial Magistrate of Jaipur has asked the local police to register an FIR based on this person’s allegation. Gaurav Tiwari, a struggling writer based in Jaipur, has complained against the show for allegedly using the concept, script and also the word Swayamvar from his portal.

Gaurav told the court that he got the copyright of the script and the word Swayamvar in 2008 and also showed it to a private channel. Now the show airs on a different channel. The court on Tuesday asked the police to file the case of forgery under the violation of copyright act against Rakhi Sawant and six others, including the Managing Director of the channel and the Executive Director of the show.

TV actor Ravi Kishan is also among the six people who have been summoned by the court. He appeared on the show in the initial days. The reality show will reach its culmination on August 2 and it’s learnt that Rakhi will (surely) marry one of the contestants.
